HDC-01 dual digital music controller by Cortex

Previewed at winter Namm show 2006, Cortex will exhibit a final version of its Cortex HDC-01 digital music controller for installation and DJs at Musikmesse Frankfurt 2006, Hall 5.1 B06. Using hard drive based technology, the Cortex HDC-01dual digital music controller allows for manipulating digital music files. With USB compatibility, Cortex users can utilize an array of devices with the HDC-01, including the iPod, external USB Storage Devices, CD-ROM drives, and even DVD-ROM drives. Tracks from music collections can be cued up, played, and manipulated.
The HDC-01 features automated cataloging of music libraries on compatible devices giving a number of browsing options, including Search by Artist, Song Title, and Genre. The main playback screen displays all the essentials including artist, track title, time elapsed, and time remaining. The user can get info on any track in the catalog, showing everything from artist and track title to the file format, genre, or length of the track.
Additional features comprise a file explorer to allow users to browse through files and directories in the same way they would on a computer, and a device seclection option when multiple storage devices are connected.
