Community shows complete iBOX range at prolight+sound

Community iLF218 subwooferCommunity Professional Loudspeakers are again taking a substantial stand (Hall 8.0 E12) at prolight+sound 2006 in Frankfurt. The main focus of the stand will be iBOX, a range of large format systems for sound reinforcement in stadia, multi-purpose sports facilities, houses of worship, nightclubs, bars and live sound venues. The first iBOX models were introduced at Frankfurt in 2005.
The first major installation of iBOX was at the Palavela arena hosting the Torino 2006 Winter Olympic Games. The main PA for this 6,600 capacity venue, used for the figure skating and short track speed skating competitions, consists of 96 Community iBOX loudspeakers; 32 iHP3594H, 26 iHP1596, 20 iHP1294 and 18 CPL42-94.
Complementing iBOX, the new iLF218 (photo) is a dual 18-inch subwoofer offering punch, high output, and low distortion. The iLF218 uses a combination of techniques to keep voice coil temperatures low to avoid power compression and ensure long-term reliability. Active-Air cooling uses the bass ports to move outside air over the motor structures of each driver. Additionally, cone movement drives air through the vented magnet pole-piece to cool the motor structures and BCL (Balanced Cone Loading) improves the linearity of the system by balancing the front and rear air loads.
Also complementing Community’s iBOX and performance FOH systems is the M-Class (M12) stage monitor system. The M12 is a compact solution at a mere 10.5-inches (267 mm) high, offering clean sightlines for audiences and cameras.
Community will also be displaying their R Series and WET Series, loudspeakers which prove that even the most hostile environments do not need to be a limitation on audio quality. R Series are capable of providing high intelligibility over very long distances and were also proving their ability at the Winter Olympics.
Completing the show line-up are Community’s multi-purpose I/O (Indoor/Outdoor) loudspeakers and Cloud ceiling loudspeakers. and the DnD and MVPII ranges which provide cost-effective solutions for portable applications and on-stage use.
