Shown at Musikmesse Frankfurt 2003, the Gamma Series of moulded speaker cabinets demonstrates a marked departure for Carlsbro from the traditional speaker cabinet. The range consists of two passive, two-way cabinets, two active, two-way cabinets and one active, one-way bass bin. Manufactured from black, scuffresistant, durable, injectionmoulded polypropylene, these cabinets are as at home on the road as they are in a static location.
The model Gamma 12/250 features a 2-way passive filter configuration with a crossover frequency of 2.5 kHz. A 12" driver and 1.35" compression tweeter deliver a frequency response from 60 Hz to 15kHz (-3 db), a power capacity of 250 W, a maximum SPL of 121 db (±3 db) and a sensitivity of 96 db (1 W/1 m). The active Gamma 12/300 is identically equipped and features two power amplifiers of 250 W and 50 Watt. Flare dispersion is 90° x 60°.
Passive Gamma 15/300 and active Gamma 15/400 are 2-way configurations with a 15" low frequency driver and a 1.74" compression tweeter with a flare dispersion of 90° x 60°. Frequency response is 50 Hz to 15 kHz (-3db), power capacity 300 W for the passive model and 300 W plus 100 W for the active speaker. Both models sport a maximum SPL of 122 dB ±3dB and a sensitivity of 97 dB (1 W/1 m).
The 15" driver of the active Gamma 15/600 Bass Bin is driven by a 600 W amplifier. The model features an active filter network with a crossover fruquency of 150 Hz and a frequence response of 40 to 115 Hz (-3dB) with a maximum SPL of 126 dB.
