Yamaha launches Saxophone Quartet Contest

With the aim of promoting the careers of chamber musicians, Yamaha announces the 2nd International Yamaha Saxophone Quartet Contest.
The competition will be held in the ‘Manuel de Falla’ hall of the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid (Madrid Royal Conservatory). Groups will be required to present themselves at 9 a.m. on Friday, 5th or Saturday, 6th of March 2010, depending on the number of participants and the criteria of the organisational committee.
Interested saxophone quartets shall register for this contest until the 19th of February, 2010. Prize money is announced for the three best saxophone quartets.
The renowned French saxophone player will be supervising Jean-Yves Fourmeau throughout the contest.
