Alesis launches 3632 Compressor at Musikmesse 2011

At Musikmesse 2011, Frankfurt, Germany, Alesis announced the 3632 Compressor, a dual-channel compressor, limiter, and gate unit. Building on the Alesis 3630 Compressor's popular design and features, the 3632 single rack-space unit provides two independent, fully featured compressor and limiter units for any application from studio recording to live sound or broadcast.
The 3632’s compressor attack and release times can be automatically set dependent on the source material, or full manual control can be exercised. The unit can function as either two separate processors, or stereo linked to provide true stereo compression. An adjustable expander/gate and very low distortion Voltage Control Amplifiers (VCA) are designed to deliver smooth sound.
A sidechain function enables users to place the 3632 Compressor in an external effects loop, while a second, internal sidechain employs a switchable low-cut filter to help control pumping due to heavy low-frequency content. LED meters on each channel display gain reduction and input/output levels.
“Alesis is known for delivering low cost, high-value compressors,” said Dan Radin, Product Manager, Alesis. “The 3632 Compressor continues the tradition of the original 3630 and even adds a few new features.”
