The Hearo 888 Titan and Hearo 999 Audiosphere from AKG are wireless headphones that provide surround sound with Dolby Digital Decoder. The Hearo 888 Titan converts the analog input signal to digital and all signal processing and transmission to the headphones take place in the digital domain.
The Hearo 999 features inputs for digital signals. All audio signal processing is performed in the digital domain at a resolution of 24 bits.  Up to now, the Hearo 999 is the only device combining digital IVA for simulating virtual loudspeakers, Dolby Digital for playing back multichannel movie sound and Digital Wireless for noise-free surround sound transmission to the headphones.
With its high quality reproduction the Hearo 999 Audiosphere is also an efficient tool for use in the studio as monitor system for recording and mixing, overdubbing and playbacks as well as for rehearsal. You can get the same monitor quality for every mixdown, independent of control room acoustics. The Hearo 999 Audiosphere eliminates the cumbersome wiring needed for overdubs and playbacks and prevents ground loops. As many wireless headphones as required can be used for overdubs. Digital signal ensures interference-free transmission. For rehearsals, using ACS, a transmission technique with almost zero delay (<5 msecs.), and IVA processing, the Audiosphere provides a virtual acoustic environment to compensate for poor rehearsal room acoustics.
The integrated Dolby Pro Logic and Dolby Digital decoders make the Hearo 999 Audiosphere a suitable monitor system for future DVD projects. It eliminates the need to set up a complex surround speaker system and allows listening independently from any position exactly as it will be heard on the DVD.
The Hearo 999 Audiosphere lets you listen to both conventional stereo and five-channel Dolby Digital mixes from DAT or mini disc. Just record the processed binaural headphone signal of the Hearo 999 Audiosphere on DAT or mini disc and you can listen surround sound everywhere, anytime.
