Evans to launch Power Center Tom Heads at winter NAMM 2010

At the Winter NAMM show 2010, Anaheim, California, Booth #4834, Evans drumheads introduces the Power Center Tom Heads, offering vintage sound through contemporary design. Evans’ single-ply Power Center Tom Heads are designed to offer a full-bodied tone with great attack, increased durability, and impeccable focus. These heads aim at players who prefer that classic 70s sound but require modern consistency and quality.
The new tom heads feature graduated film thickness (10-mil film for heads sized from 6” – 12” and 12-mil film on 13” – 18”) and graduated dot sizes to create a balanced sound across the kit. Like Evans’ popular EC Snare heads, the Power Center Tom Heads utilize the same stress-relieved metalized dot on the underside allowing the head to flex and vibrate more naturally.
“The new Evans Power Center single-ply tom heads are perfect for players looking for an old-school, vintage tone,” says Mike Robinson, Evans Senior Product Manager. “These heads are great for players who crave the response of a one-ply head but don’t want to forfeit strength, tone, or consistency.”
