Still an outstanding tool for creative musicians and composers, the latest version of the Neuron synthesizer was showcased at Musikmesse 2004. The instrument is shipping since 2003 and is known for its capabilities of importing samples from almost any sound source and rendering new models.
At winter NAMM 2002, Hartmann showed the prototype of the Neuron synthesizer, based on the combination of a neural network synthesis engine and a user interface with a different approach. At winter NAMM 2003 Hartmann launched the MODELmaker Software, allowing any sample format to be transferred into Neuron synthesizers. The grafical user interface helps to easily create multilayers, to arrange, prepare and playback different sample standard formats and finally render a model out of any soundsource. The models can then be loaded to the Neuron harddrive and used inside the resynators of the instrument. The software allows a choice from different model sets to create dedicated parameters for a model.
Additionally, a neural automatism can put out parametersets to obtain original new and drastic soundmanipulations inside a model. The software is available now and is shipped free with any purchase of a Neuron Synthesizer. Using a computer and a USB network hub, the user can create his personal, dedicated Neuron model library.
