Zakk Wylde ZV Custom Electric guitar by Epiphone

At Winter NAMM show 2009, Epiphone displays the Zakk Wylde ZV Custom Electric guitar outfit. From his early work with Ozzy Osbourne to his seminal playing with Black Label Society to his distinctive solo outings, Zakk Wylde has distinguished himself as one of the most fiery and furious lead players. The metal guitarist has joined Epiphone to produce the Zakk Wylde ZV Custom.
As with Zakk's signature Les Pauls, the body is carved from solid Mahogany and fitted with a glued-in hard Maple neck. The combination provides for deep, rich tone with added brightness and sustain that comes with a set-neck guitar. The ZV Custom is equipped with a set of EMG-HZ humbuckers including HZ-4 pickup in the bridge position and a HZ-4A pickup in the neck position. Controlling the two pickups are a bridge pickup Volume, a neck pickup volume and a master tone with 3-way pickup selector. Adding to the sustain of the instrument, the ZV Custom uses Epiphone's new patent-applied-for LockTone tune-o-matic that "locks" the bridge on the posts and makes string changes a breeze while a string-thru body design ensures ultimate string to body vibrations.
Also showcased by Epiphone is the Marcus Henderson Apparition model. Henderson is best known as the heavy-metal guitar player behind a majority of guitar parts in highly successful video games, has joined forces with Epiphone to design and create the new Apparition signature guitar. With a shape reminiscent of an Explorer or Futura, the new Apparition guitar takes guitar design to the extreme and offers a patented All Access heel contour and high performance pickups, controls and hardware.
Epiphone also introduces the new Epiphone Custom Historic Collection and the Thunderbird PRO bass.
