Albion introduces highly versatile Gulf Stream series of all tube amps

At Winter NAMM show 2013 Albion introduced the Gulf Stream series of all valve guitar amplifiers which also were showcased at Musikmesse Frankfurt 2013. Featuring a very retro style outfit, Albion founder and acknowledged tube amp designer Steve Grindrod developed a versatile but still very simple control format.
Covering a power range from 15 to 40 Watts, the Gulf Stream series comprises two combo amplifiers, two heads and two cabinets. All amplifiers use AX7 tubes for the input stage, 6V6 valves for the power amp, and feature bass, middle and treble tone controls. Rounding retro style, GS amps' master stages offer vintage Tremolo with speed and depth controls plus digital Accutronics reverb, presence control and frequency compensated output level. All switches except the 8/16 Ohm output can be remotely controlled. Foot switches are included.
The single channel models GS15C (Combo) and GS15H (head) provide switchable gain and voice controls, preamp and master volume. Delivering about 20 Watts of power (at clipping) into 8/16 Ohms load, the combo features a specially designed 12"/16 Ohms Albion driver.
The dual channel design of the 30 Watt models GS30 C and GS30H increases versatility considerably. The normal channel simply has voice switch, volume and tone control. The boost channel provides 3-band equalizer plus voice and gain switches. The master stage's reverb on the dual channel amplifiers features an additional boost control. The combo version has two 12" Albion speakers wired for a 16 Ohms load.
The Gulf Stream series is completed by the 4x10"/16 Ohms GS410 and the single 12"/16 Ohms speaker GS122 cabinets.
Highly anticipated after the Gulf Stream series' debut in 2012, the GS production models attracted acknowledged LA session musicians to Albion's 2013 NAMM exhibit, such as 'the King of the Rocking Blues' Gregg Wright or Tommy Bolan.
