Charvel Traditional At winter NAMM 2002 Charvel Guitars (AMIC) announced five new models. Each Charvel uses Seymour Duncan pickups, 1/8" quilt maple bent tops and they have the original Charvel neck shape.
"We used the original neck jigs to make these necks have the feel of the originals. These necks feel like they could be 20 years old, " according to Kevin Easton, marketing Ddrector of Jackson/Charvel Guitar Company. "We set out to improve on the original Charvels by using some of today's technology and advancements. The new Charvels use Seymour Duncan Live Wire pickups, Li'l Screamin Demons, Pearly Gates, SH14 and JB's. Some models have alder bodies, others have mahogany and the limited edition model A Plus K has a beautiful koa top."
Charvel guitars feature bolt-on necks, 25.5" scales, bodies made of alder (Journeyman, Standard,Traditional), mahogany(Model A, Model A Plus, Model A Plus K). Necks are quartersawn maple (Journeyman, Standard, Traditional, Model A), birdseye maple (Model A Plus, Model A Plus K) and fingerboards of rosewood (Journeyman, Standard, Traditional) and ebony (Model A, Model A Plus, Model a Plus K) with mother of pearl dot inlays. The black hardware includes a vintage style tremolo (Journeyman, Standard) or a JT580LP double locking tremolo (Traditional,Model A, Model A Plus, Model A Plus K). Available finishes are black, cobalt blue, electric blue, faded cherry sunburst, faded tobacco sunburst, natural, transparent blue and rising sun graphic.
