Yamaha introduces redesigned generation of renowned MG Series consoles

At Musikmesse Frankfurt 2014 Yamaha introduced the new generation of MG Series compact mixing consoles. The new MG-series has a flexible line up, completely redesigned and suitable for both portable and installation applications. Standard models range from six to twenty channels in size, XU models feature on-board SPX effect processors, USB audio interface and iPad/iPhone integration.
The new MG-series comprises a versatile line up of ten models in total featuring Yamaha's studio-grade discrete Class-A “D-Pre” microphone preamps with an inverted Darlington circuit topography combining with newly developed Op amps "MG01" designed to deliver fat, natural sounding bass with rich mids and smooth, soaring highs with very low distortion.
Models with more than ten inputs are equipped with Yamaha’s upgraded 1-knob compressors that let you add optimized compression to a wide variety of input sources with the touch of a single control. The on-board effects processors in the XU models have been improved to provide 24 different effects, upgraded from the 16 effect version of the previous series. MG06X is equipped with 6 effects processors. XU models also feature a USB 2.0 audio interface with 24/192kHz audio resolution for high quality playback and recording of content from a PC/Mac. Steinberg’s Cubase AI is included with these models.
