European debut for three Yamaha products at PLASA 2011

Yamaha Commercial Audio Europe comes to PLASA 2011 on the back of the company’s most successful ever festival season and is showing three products which are making their European trade show debuts. Exhibiting on Stand 1-G31, PLASA 2011 sees Yamaha showing three new products which continue to broaden the company's ranges and add value and functionality to existing systems.
Nearly 50,000 copies of the original StageMix iPad app have been downloaded since its launch at PLASA 2010. Now StageMix 2.0 gives users of M7CL and LS9 even greater levels of wireless control. The new version adds Head Amp gain control for each input channel, Scene Memory management (including Store, Recall, Scene Titles and Comments) and other refinements. StageMix 2.0 is free to download.
Launched at InfoComm11 in Orlando, Florida, the VS series of installation loudspeakers is available in two models - the VS4 and VS6 - in black or white. Both feature a sleek, functional design with weatherproof enclosure.
Aimed principally at the corporate market, the MY4-AEC Echo Canceller card offers high definition sound for audio and video conferencing with Yamaha’s DME series of digital mixing engines. The MY4-AEC features four channels of adaptive echo cancelling (AEC), which automatically calculate the best settings according to the environment and the equipment being used. It is also equipped with a powerful noise reduction algorithm and four channels of AES/EBU I/O to facilitate the use of other digital audio equipment.
Nick Cook, European Marketing Director, Yamaha Commercial Audio, looks forward to PLASA2011, saying, “Interest from rental companies in our digital consoles this summer has been phenomenal because they continue to be a reliable long-term investment. In the past year we have also sold more LS9s than ever before. Although there is no doubt that the pro-audio market is tough, we currently have a good forward-order book, which is proof that our strategy of not ‘reinventing the wheel’, purely for the sake of doing so, is a sound one." Summer 2011 has seen the highest ever number of Yamaha PM5D digital mixing consoles at work in a single summer season, as it is now regarded as ‘the standard’ for outdoor monitor systems. Yamaha consoles have been in use at the majority of Europe’s biggest festivals, while the continuing expansion of the market has seen the M7CL and LS9 become mainstays of an ever-growing variety of outdoor shows.
