Duct Cool long pull ventilation system solves cooling problems

Although Middle Atlantic Products originally designed the new Duct Cool Series ventilation system for the Residential Installation market, potential customers quickly noticed that it solves a tricky cooling problem in A/V applications as well. The Duct Cool Series system will be showcased at InfoComm 2008, Las Vegas, exhibit C3403.
Duct Cool efficiently removes heat from the equipment without adding noise at the equipment location. So, in situations where the equipment is close to or in the same room as the meeting, presenter or audience, it can be cooled quietly and effectively. For example, projectors are noisy, produce a lot of heat and are often mounted in the same room as the meeting or audience. By boxing the projector and using a Duct Cool system, the projector noise is reduced and the generated heat can be removed, benefitting both the installers and the users.
The Duct Cool vent system fan can be mounted remotely––12 to 25 feet away is the recommended distance––without significant loss of performance. It can also be mounted directly on a rack enclosure with an optional Top Mount. A temperature probe and thermostatic control save energy by only running the system when needed.
The two primary components of the system are a powerful mixed-flow fan assembly and 25 feet of either 4” or 6” ID (inner diameter) insulated flexible ducting depending on the model. Duct Cool is supplied as a complete kit with attachment hardware, a special high-strength mounting plate, a temperature probe, and an air intake assembly.
At the core of Duct Cool’s innovative design is the high power mixed-flow fan assembly that can be quickly and easily mounted horizontally or vertically, with or without the plate. Rubber vibration dampeners have been added to the mounting points to isolate the unit for even quieter performance.
Featuring typically high quality, heavy-duty components throughout, Duct Cool can be easily installed with a variety of positioning options. The standard models include a thermostat function that automatically turns the unit on at 88º Fahrenheit (31° C) and off at 85º (29.5° C). An optional external thermostat is available for users that want more control of the operating temperature range.
The system is powered through a 9 foot electrical cord preassembled at the factory to facilitate installation or the unit can be opened and hardwired.
