Tannoy, Lab.gruppen and Lake bring new technology for installed audio applications

Tannoy, Lab.gruppen and Lake showcased their latest product innovations at Integrated Systems Europe.2012, Tannoy debuted their VLS (Vertical Line Source) passive column range. With a sleek curvilinear architectural profile specifically designed for install applications, the VLS Series comes in three models that each utilise proven transducer technology adapted from Tannoy’s QFlex steerable column range.
Also showcased was the full range of Tannoy’s VX Series and VXP Series, the latter featuring Lab.gruppen’s new IDEEA (Intelli-Drive Energy Efficient Amplifier) power module. The new passive and self-powered loudspeakers build on the success of the existing V Series range, with an expanded line-up that includes twin driver configurations and new QCW (Q-Centric Waveguide) transducer technology to optimise tonal clarity, LF performance and pattern control.
Also on the stand were Tannoy’s highly successful QFlex digital beam-steering array loudspeakers, complete with a whole new set of innovative enhancements that give the product improved functionality and superior capabilities for integration within large scale PA/VA applications.
Tannoy also showcased its full range of Commercial Sound loudspeaker products, including the brand new OCV Series pendant open ceiling speakers, the new DVS Series, specifically designed for a wide variety of discrete small-to-medium scale sound reinforcement applications, and its CMS Series and CVS Series, all of which offer the system designer, architect and installer the very highest audio quality, intelligibility, coverage and power handling.
lab.gruppen E SeriesLeading the charge for Lab.gruppen will be its new install-centric amplifier range, E Series which had been launched at PLASA 2011 in London. This 1U install-centric amplifier platform combines ample power reserves with very low power consumption, reducing the total cost of ownership below that of conventional designs. Certified as Energy Star 2.1 compliant, E Series power amplifiers are efficient both in terms of net operating efficiency and typical current draw.
The company also joined Lake as they exhibited the PLM Series (which incorporates Lake Processing technology) alongside LM 44 (another first view for ISE 2012), the brand new digital audio processor from Lake. These products showed how Lake processing can be integrated into large scale installed digital audio applications such as sports stadiums to offer a greater degree of functionality, integration and security via the use of Dante to distribute audio with dual-redundancy, seamlessly, on a digital network.
As well as this wide range of leading products from three manufacturers, parent company TC Group also took the opportunity to formally launch its new Applications Engineering and Training (AET) group, headed up by Graham Hendry (formerly Director of Business Development for Tannoy).
A few weeks after ISE, all products also were showcased at Prolight + Sound Show 2012 in Frankfurt. In June 2012, the VLS series will make its US debut at stand C10516 at InfoComm in Vegas. InfoComm has also ben chosen for the launch of the VXS subwoofers, matching the VX installation series introduced earlier.
