At Musikmesse /Prolight+Sound Frankfurt HK Audio presented their Installation Line, a  speaker series developed specifically for fixed installation. Featuring ten different models, the line's offering ranges from the compact IL 42 for background sound reinforcement in bars and shops to the powerful 15"/2" full-range IL 15.2 cabinet. Recessed ceiling-mounted speakers (IL 6 and IL 8.75) with matching subwoofers included as well.
The systems feature linear frequency response, speech intelligibility and high power handling capacity. The standard IL12.2 and IL15.2 versions equipped with 60°x 40° CD horns will also be available with 90° X 40° horns. The horns all feature a square design, providing a total of four different projection patterns. The cabinets come in black or white without handles, flight rails and tripod mounting collars.
In addition to standard screw-down terminals, the larger models ship with Speakon connectors for fast, easy connection. Recessed threads (M8 or M10) make it easy to attach eye bolts to suspend cabinets from walls and ceilings. 100 V transformers with different power output levels are optionally available.
"When we developed the IL Series, our goal was to make the job of the person doing the installation as easy as possible. While focusing on outstanding audio performance, we also made sure that plenty of mounting accessories would be available for simple, secure on-site installation. We also provide data records for acoustic simulation for Ease 3.0 and Ulysses," comments Bernd Jung, product manager at HK Audio.
