After launching the Super Action Series III Alto Saxophone and completing Series III Selmer Paris now has added an option: The model 62H includes an extra harmonic key on the neck of the instrument. Played with the left hand thumb, the harmonic key solidifies the altissimo G. The Selmer (Paris) Series III 62H alto saxophone is available in standard clear lacquer, silver-plated finishes, matte, black lacquer, and white lacquer.
On the Series III several changes had been made previously to improve technical facility and increase playing comfort. The left-hand palm keys have been moved up the body (not higher), placing them more directly under the finger and accommodating different hand sizes. Left-hand table keys are ergonomically positioned, the right-hand D# and C natural keys are re-positioned and the C# vent key mechanism improves intonation and tone quality without using alternate fingerings. Players are given direct access to right-hand side/trill keys (Bb, C natural, and high E natural). Selmer provides easy-to-make adjustments like some adjusting set screws and sliding adjustments.
The Series III was designed to archieve quick response results from the use of small, independent ribs holding the posts and less metal dampening the body tube. A new scale design delivers improved intonation.
