Smartrigger introduces the world¹s first electronic cymbal trigger for electronic percussionists. The patent pending CYT-1 trigger allows electronic drummers to use anything that can be mounted on a standard cymbal stand as an electronic cymbal even real acoustic cymbals.
The CYT-1 mounts on the cymbal stand, not the cymbal, allowing any striking surface to be used as a cymbal trigger. This includes acoustic cymbals, practice cymbals, other manufacturer¹s ecymbals, plates, and even trash can lids! You can use the Smartrigger CYT-1 on your crash, ride, splash, china, and hi-hat cymbals. The trigger is center mounted, hitting the bell of the ride cymbal produces a louder hit than an edge hit, producing the bell sound at the bell of the cymbal for more natural playing.
Smartrigger¹s patent pending technology uses electronic drum modules with real acoustic cymbals. The manufacturer promises natural feel because the CYT-1 mounts directly on the cymbal stand, the cymbal is free to rotate, swing and play naturally. Mounting the trigger sensor at the center of the cymbal rather than somewhere on the bow allows even triggering anywhere around the cymbal¹s surface.
The CYT-1 is mounted on the cymbal stand and connected to your drum module via a patch cable. The cable is not connected to the cymbal so it can¹t pull off during a performance. Using the CYT-1 with an 'X' sound on a Roland drum module allows you to use one input for both bell and edge ride sounds.
