Rare clips of historic drummers published by Hudson Music

Following the response to their "Classic Drum Solos and Drum Battles", Hudson Music launched "Classic Jazz Drummers: Swing and Beyond". This one-hour videocassette covers the development of jazz drumming over five decades of music- from Dixieland and Swing to Big Band and BeBop- and features both legendary giants and unsung heroes. Through the use of film clips taken from live concerts, feature films and television broadcasts "Classic Jazz Drummers: Swing and Beyond" showcases many of the 20th Century's most inventive and influential players performing with the groups they helped make famous as well as in exciting drum solos and battles.
Included on "Classic Jazz Drummers: Swing and Beyond" is recently discovered footage of Sid Catlett with Louis Armstrong, Ray Bauduc with Dizzy Gillespie, Gus Johnson with Count Basie and Panama Francis with Cab Calloway plus rare clips of Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich and Lionel Hampton with their own bands. Never-before-seen clips of jazz drumming pioneers such as Mel Lewis, Stan Levy, Philly Joe Jones and Kenny Clarke, along with the only existing film of Baby Dodds, are also featured.
