Synthetic LP Conga Heads by Evans
At
Summer NAMM LP Music will introduce the LP Synthetic Conga Heads by Evans
as an option for retrofitting LP congas. LP product specialists worked
closely with the Evans team to design and produce what they believe is
the finest synthetic conga head available.
In fact, LP and Evans collaborated
on extensive testing of the new head in a variety of clinical and live
venues. Perfect fit and exceptional durability for all sizes of LP and
Matador congas, as well as extended collar drums such as the Galaxy and
Giovanni series are guaranteed.
The heads have been road
tested extensively by LP artists and conform perfectly to the bearing edges
of LP drums, allowing optimum vibration. Recently fitted on LP congas at
the Montreal Drum Festival, the Modern Drummer Festival, and at various
European venues, the Evans heads received rave reviews. As one LP artist
put it, "sure, they're not rawhide heads ... but the rest of the band never
even realized I had switched!"
The result of an extensive
collaboration of the LP and Evans product development teams, the LP by
Evans Head is based on the proven Tri-Center conga head design. This features
a special triple-slit Overtone Control Center that focuses pitch and reduces
unwanted overtones. A new textured finish adds to the formula and ensures
a feel remarkable similar to rawhide. A new hoop design locks the
film in place, even under extreme high tension.
A major benefit of the synthetic
head is that it eliminates the effect that weather has on animal skin.
This means a drummer can tune during the sound check and know that the
tension will hold when the stages lights go on - or when congas are in
transit.
