Breedlove introduces the Pro D25/SR Herringbone and Mark II and IV models

Mark II Tigerflame At winter NAMM show 2008 Breedlove introduced the second model in the highly successful Pro Series line as well as two new Mark Series models - the Mark II and Mark IV. Breedlove guitars will also be showing at Musikmesse Frankfurt, Hall 3 A76.
The Mark II is a double-cutaway instrument with a chambered, ergonomically shaped Honduran Mahogany body, a top carved from AAA Curly Maple, and a Mahogany bolt-on neck with a trapezoidal neck pocket design, the latter an innovation shared with Tom Anderson. Also featured are Seymour Duncan pickups (Phat Cat or '59 Model), Gotoh 510 tuning machines, and Tone Pros hardware. The Mark II comes in two flavors - a standard model, as well as the Mark II, Synergy, which incorporates RMC hexaphonic pickups and an RMC Polydrive V preamp on-board. The Synergy system provides triple outputs - two 1/4" outs for magnetic and acoustic tones, and a 13-pin output for interfacing directly with Roland VG modeling systems or MIDI interfaces. In a clear case of form following function, the distinctive "stinger" tailpiece design of the Mark II came as a solution to accommodating the triple output jack.
The Mark IV is inspired by Breedlove's C25 acoustic guitar body shape, and features a single-cutaway ergonomic Sapele Mahogany body with carved AAA Curly Maple top, Seymour Duncan pickups (Phat Cat or '59 Model), Gotoh 381 tuning machines, and Tone Pros hardware.
Both the Mark II and IV are built in the Breedlove Custom Shop in Bend, Oregon, and can be extensively customized with alternate woods, finishes, hardware, electronics, and more. The instruments will be avaible from Fall 2008
Fast on the heels of Breedlove Guitar Company's most successful product introduction ever - the Pro C25/CR, Herringbone - comes the second instrument in the new Pro Series line. The Breedlove Pro D25/SR, Herringbone is based upon Breedlove's Custom Shop D25 -soft cutaway dreadnought. This USA-made instrument features a solid AAA Sitka Spruce top, solid AAA East Indian Rosewood back and sides, Ivoroid binding, Herringbone top purfling, Abalone rosette, and the acknowledged L.R. Baggs Element Active VTC system with on-board volume and tone controls. The Pro D25/SR, H incorporates Breedlove innovations such as a graduated top thickness (progressively thicker from bass to treble side), a JLD bridge truss (helps to keep the guitar top relaxed for maximum sustain and resonance), and our pinless winged bridge.
Thanks to a streamlined manufacturing process using both US and imported components, and complete instrument assembly, finishing and string-up at the Breedlove Custom Shop in Bend, the Breedlove Pro Series brings U.S. Custom Shop quality to a new and exciting price point.
