Vortex guitar for metal performers and four new Generation models

At summer 2006 Namm show Peavey introduced the Vortex, an electric guitar designed for extreme metal players. An homage to shred guitar and the legions of shredheads worldwide, the Peavey Vortex is outfitted with the hottest ceramic Peavey pickups available. The Vortex also features a fully floated, Floyd Rose-licensed, double-locking tremolo, a slick bolt-on maple neck with rosewood fretboard and a lightweight basswood body.
The Vortex metal guitar employs a 24 ¾” scale with 24 frets, basswood body with satin black finish, six-in-line headstock, two hot-wound ceramic Peavey pickups with three-way toggle, single volume and tone controls.

Peavey also introduces four all-new Generation Series electric guitars, including the Generation Custom EX featuring a special reverse-wound humbucker in the neck position and patented ACM (Analog Acoustic Modeling) circuitry.
The Generation Custom EX, Generation Vintage EX, Generation Triple/Single EX and Generation EX guitars further refine the artistry of this line with vintage-wound pickups and vintage tuning keys, basswood body, maple necks and rosewood fingerboards. Vintage-wound Peavey pickups add tonal balance and a vintage flair to both clean and distorted tones, while the ACM circuitry replicates an acoustic guitar's tone and resonance through a patented analog process. The vintage pickup and ACM tones can be blended by the 360-degree, fully adjustable knob control for a hybrid tone. The traditional pickups can be adjusted via volume and tone controls and toggle-style selector switches.
