Carlsbro and Studiomaster move forward at Musikmesse 2013

Carlsbro and Studiomaster have announced the main attractions and events associated with their presence at Winter NAMM 2013 and at Musikmesse /Prolight + Sound 2013, Hall 4.0B70 in Frankfurt. The exhibition team for the British MI and pro audio brands, led by Marketing and Business Development Director Paul Brewis, introduces a series of new product and business initiatives.
Carlsbro product developments include revamped styling and a new range of optional finishes across all guitar and bass amplifier products. Carlsbro classic tube heads, like the VAC100 and 50 Top, now come in ‘industry standard’ size, to match the standard form of 4x12" cabinets from Carlsbro and other manufacturers.
All models from the Bassline Series of combo amps have been appropriately restyled and incorporated within the Viper bass amplification range. Viper Series will now encompass all of Carlsbro’s bass combo, amp head and speaker cabinets, beyond the Kickstart series.
The VAC Series of classic tube 15, 30 and 60 watt combos is also being given a facelift. Carlsbro’s topline ‘vintage’ valve ranges – the 50Top and Powertone 4x12 vintage cab, TC30 and TC60 combos, TC15H, TC30H and TC60H heads, and the TC112 single 12 inch cab – are collectively restyled and rebranded as the Carlsbro EVO Series. The revamped guitar amplifier product range will now comprise the Kickstart, VAC, EVO, Viper Bass and Sherwood acoustic series; with electronic instruments and electronic instrument amplifiers under the CD ‘powered by Carlsbro’ marque. The company also launched a completely new consumer product brand – ‘Hurtz’, heaphones catered for the heavy metal, rock and goth consumer market.
The latest Studiomaster products include cosmetic restyling and improved feature sets for several mixer and speaker ranges and a complete new Horizon range.
The Horizon series mixers offer 12 or 20 input configurations. All feature twin effects DSP, dynamics processors and two way active cross-over, with the powered versions providing 2000 watts, flexibly assignable to FOH and / or stage monitoring. The new form factor features light aluminium panels and sustainable bamboo end cheeks with the emphasis on portability and minimum weight. The control surface is the result of a ground up re-evaluation, specifying only the necessary features and controls in order to minimise clutter and improve operability. The curved front trim panel features a concealed centre carry handle enabling the Horizon to be picked up by carried in one hand.
The Horizon also features a new generation Studiomaster mic-pre amp, incorporating ultra low noise discrete circuitry. It also is the only mixer in its class to feature an optical compressor on input channels. 3-band channel EQ includes mid sweep and four auxiliary sends feed the on-board effects and connections for external monitor systems. Balanced XLR and jack, and unbalanced RCA phono I/O connectivity throughout is augmented with a USB 2.0 interface for computer / digital audio player connectivity. The powered models feature twin 1000W Class D amplifiers with discrete switch mode power supplies.
New speaker series include the XPX Series portable PA cabs, in both self-powered and passive variants. Following its public debut at Winter NAMM, the Starlight series, offering portable self-powered sound reinforcement with integrated stage lighting and stage monitoring, made its European debut in Frankfurt.
