At Musikmesse Frankfurt SWR will show two new bass combo amps and a new head in the Workingman's series. All products were launched at winter NAMM 2002.
The SWR Black Beauty bass combo amplifier is the successor to the Basic Black. The Black Beauty features a custom SWR 15-inch bass driver and high-frequency horn tweeter in a 4-ohm speaker configuration - driven by 350 watts RMS (450 watts using a 4-ohm extension speaker cabinet). In addition to new chassis graphics featuring the SWR badge in classic chrome, the Black Beauty has inherited a very popular effect from the SWR Mo' Bass' soundstation' - the SWR SubWave - producing clean octave signals. Other SWR on-board features are an aural enhancer, variable XLR pad for the amplifier's balanced output, side-chain effects loop, tuner out, 1/4-inch and Speakon extension speaker jacks, speaker on/off switch, and a three-way tweeter control switch (full-range, -6dB, tweeter off). Black Beauty will be shipping in April 2002.
The SWR Baby Baby Blue bass combo is the amplifier section of the original SWR Baby Blue' combo amp atop a custom SWR 1x10/piezo tweeter speaker complement and SWR's most portable pro combo to date. Features include 120 watts RMS, 160 watts RMS with an extension speaker, three-band semi-parametric EQ, EQ bypass switch, power amp clip LED, side-chain effects loop, effects bypass switch, effects blend, balanced XLR record out with pad and ground lift, headphone jack, tuner send, and unbalanced line out. The Baby Baby Blue will be available from March 2002.
The Workingman's 8004 T/O/P is a 750-watt all-solid-state model designed in conjunction with bassist Francis "Rocco" Prestia of Tower Of Power, and a complement to the current Workingman's Tower' 8x10 bass speaker enclosure. Features include a "Shape" control, five-band EQ section, 1/4-inch unbalanced line out, tuner out, side-chain effects loop and patch point (post-master preamp output and power amp input) for the most flexible input/output section on any Workingman's series unit.
